Title: Death of my computer
Tags: the TEH wheels pop bang boom computer screwed up by my stupidity hahaha ha
Blog Entry: First off, I'm not going to lie. I'm just now writing this but this will probably be long. There's a nice little "back" or "x" button for you to press if you are wise. Only read if INCREDIBLY bored. If you are moderately bored, go to the chat when nobody is on and start talking to yourself. It's more fun than you'd think. So Friday night, I was messing with my computer and I found this random little .exe. The voice in my head said: Don't press it. Don't press it. There is no need. You don't even have internet so there is no need for you to press it. So I pressed it anyway. At first nothing seemed to happen. Then I later noticed, I couldn't paste anything. Now, you'd think. THAT'S ALL but actually that's a pretty important function for me. I need to transfer files back and forwards from home and other places, if I couldn't copy and paste. There's not much point. But that wasn't all. My program files couldn't be viewed. Several nonessential applications failed to run (and later my movie playing application failed as well). My control panel couldn't be viewed properly. Things couldn't be individually deleted from the recycle bin (and the problem with that is occasionally a hidden file ends up in there somehow and using empty recycle bin is not allowed during that time). Firefox.exe was running no matter how many times I told it to end the process. So depressed, I tried to try many things to get around this and to make a long story short. They failed. I grabbed my Windows 2000 disc and tried to see if I could repair this stuff somehow. Well, repairing it seemed to actually make it partially install a new instance of it and then I couldn't access the other one. The problem here? I didn't have the key to this CD, the school people left that CD in my computer when they had set it up but there was no key with it. I don't think they actually meant for it to even be left in there when they gave it to me. Luckily, a year or so ago, I found a program that gives me the key to my legally installed windows. So I DID have the key. UNFORTUNATELY, it was ONLY IN A TEXT FILE ON THE COMPUTER ITSELF. Also known as, I have the key in a file on the computer but I cannot access it so I'm still screwed. (But I had a copy of this file on my USB I hoped and so I expected to just open it at the library if I had too but that would mean I'd have to wait at least one day). Just to let you know. I never made it to the library so everything that happened had to depend on me. So I tried messing with some recovery console thing on the setup cd that I had no idea what the heck I was doing but I somehow managed to navigate to the folder and I guess read the txt file from DOS. I don't 100% know how I achieved that but nevertheless. I wrote down my key and moved on. So I entered the key and was finished with the partial reinstall or whatever the frick it made me do. But when it started, nothing had changed. So to take what i thought would be vengeance on this shadow Firefox.exe. I deleted my firefox and turned off the computer for that night. Eh? What's this? I don't have time to finish? Hmm...well more tomorrow I guess.
