Part 1 of 4. YES THIS IS LONG SO BE SMART AND DON'T READ IT. I POSTED IT FOR MY OWN BENEFIT.
So today I went on a field trip. Though it wasn't much of one as the location was a few blocks behind my school at some church. It was for a "leadership conference." Some junk I knew that I wouldn't care about but I went anyway.
Before even getting there, there was a little oddity. They tried to fit all of us on the same bus. I don't know how many of us there were but I'm pretty sure it was more than 50 (probably more than 70+). In any case, the bus was pretty crammed. Some people had to sit three to a seat. I was going to try and sit with some girls I knew but they partnered up with this other girl immediately (who I also knew but was sort of skeptical if all three of them could really fit on one seat...cough...they are my friends though so whatever ^-^ love ya guys even though none of you have a clue about this site so you'll never see this 'lest I show it to you) Back to the story.
So we got there within a few minutes. When we arrived, I sort of mulled around until they got off the bus so I could have some people sort of familiar to sit with.
After being seated and awhile of talking, a lady came up to get the thing started. They had left some students behind so she was basically around to kill time. I'd have to say her presentation was probably one of the best despite the fact that I was used as an "example."
Part of her presentation was about the proper handshake. She showed how the typical girl will grab a hand differently from a typical boy. She then held up her hand a went like this is the thumb, these are the fingers, then she got to the flap of skin between your index and thumb and she said she didn't know what it was called so she had her own word for it. A "thingy-thing."
Sure this sounds innocent enough until she went to the next thing... She said that what she would say next would be something we would remember. Then she stood in front of me and held out her hand, naturally I shook it based off of the "lesson." She then declared that a good handshake consists of making sure that your "thingy-thing" touches the other person's "thingy-thing"
If you don't get what's wrong with that statement, maybe you need to think about it. And if you still don't get it. I applaud you. You have an excellent mind.
So after the resulting laughter from that died down. She did a few other people as examples then told us to handshake people to our left and right and stuff.
Anyway, after that, she said a bit more. Then, someone else spoke for awhile about choices *boring* and then split up into groups based on the color of the names on the folders they gave us.
(BTW this all happened yesterday. I just couldn't post it until today.)
